Landour Mela

Our objective is to promote the link between traditional, Pahari culture, and the contemporary pop-culture and lifestyles that live around the world.

Landour Mela highlights the rich heritage of Uttarakhand and the importance of keeping folk alive along with the importance of mountain-life sustainability via social and scalable ideas and presenting a contemporary view of our traditional lifestyle.

Years of collaborations and consistent BTL efforts

Green Life, with Cafe Terra, Trip The Himalaya and other allies from across the Himalyan state collaborate, associate, participate and organise social gathering and consumer engagements to help build and contribute towards integrated mountain sustainability.

Landour Mela in Mussoorie provides a meeting place for local traders, artisans, chefs and artists like singer songwriters, story-tellers, indie-musicians and folk artists of the region to create a platform for creative energies, which can be shared with the world.

Mussoorie and Landour are inseparable; one cannot do without the other. Char Dukaan is one of the most prominent and recommended tourist spots of Mussoorie. The quiet lanes of Landour Cantt. have a row of eateries that also double up as sit-n-sip roadside cafés. This place has four historical small shops, named as Char Dukaan

More than a century of serving delicious food behind them, they have retained their original character. Char Dukaan serves great food and the St. Paul’s Church makes a very photogenic setting. It offers an unbeatable view of the Himalayas, especially during winters when peaks are snow covered.

Char Dukaan located in Landour Cantonment is the coolest hangout in the whole of Mussoorie, so much so that people say if you haven’t visited Char Dukaan, you have actually not seen the real Queen of Hills!

Landour Mela is unquestionably an allrounder in terms of location and experience! The multi-day Mela offers more than great value shopping, from nature & heritage Walks to Cultural, Folk, Music Performances and activities for all age groups, all day!

December is the peak season for domestic leisure travel. More than a million people visit Mussoorie in season. The audience for the Mela comes from a wide cross section; from mountain lovers from Dehradun, Delhi/NCR and India’s other metropolitan centres to domestic and international visitors. Visitors to the Landour Mela include young independent travellers and Indian upwardly mobile professionals.

The Mela falls between the Christmas and New Year celebrations in one of the nearest hill stations from Delhi/NCR & Punjab, hence Mussoorie at large is all booked and blocked! Joined by the hip this Cantonment area sees a more filtered crowd as it lies a few kms above the Mall and attracts a certain niche.

Landour Mela is organised by Green Life and Cafe Terra in association with Landour Cantonment Board and it is supported by ITM (DRDO), Mussoorie Nagar Palika Parishad, Uttarakhand Government, Forest Department of Uttarakhand and Uttarakhand Tourism and EcoTourism Department.

Over the years Landour Mela has enjoyed continued support & deep routed partnerships with organisations like: Jabarkhet Nature Reserve, BeenThereDoonThat?, JW Marriott, Four Points by Shereton, Brentwood Hotels Resorts & Cafes, Doma’s Inn, Radio City & many more…

Landour Mela is a walk-in event from 12:00 am to 07:00 pm and requires no registration or sign up. The event is open to all visitors, tourists and local communities.

Mussoorie Farmers Market

At #MFM We Support Local!

MFM is driven by the growing community of Uttarakhand based farmers, naturepreneurs, organic start-ups and health enthusiasts, inspiring people from Mussoorie, Dehradun and Almora, Nainital and Rishikesh region to think global and buy local!

The Mussoorie Farmers Market is an amalgamation of organic foodies and farmers committed to making a change in people’s lifestyle. This is an environmentally-friendly initiative to make pesticide and chemical-free, natural clean food available to the common masses which we believe is not a privilege but a basic right.

The MFM brings together organic farmers, producers and retailers, gardening experts, health and fitness enthusiasts and other concerned environmentalists to share their knowledge and goods. To promote holistic eating habits and sustainable growing practices, this market makes fresh farm produce available directly from the source. That is basically the essence of acting locally, while thinking globally which the underlying theme of our Farmer’s Market is. This is a market for those looking for healthy culinary knowledge and experience!
